Dancing Like a Porcupine

Dancing Like a Porcupine
Graphite and charcoal on paper, 140 x 151 cm, 96 x 70 cm, 2017.

I wanted to experience what type of drawing that is created when you’re not allowed to use your hands to draw with. A piece of foam rubber, charcoal crayons and graphite pencils became the skin of a porcupine when attached to my body. As my body moved traces were created and accumulated on the paper.

Made and shown during the drawing course and exhibition Walk The Line Cirrus Intensive Drawing Course, Aalto University, Finland, 2017.
